About Gwen
If something looks interesting, I want to shoot it. I have a corner in my apartment full of random stuff, each one a story to tell. Retro memorabilia, pirate hats, fur coats, old trophies, vintage cameras, boas, backdrops, toy buses, pilfered glasses from pubs...
I grew up in Singapore, Arizona USA and the UK, and worked in London and Zurich in the mergers and acquisitions industry for four years before photography stole my heart. I am currently working in the commercial and advertising photographic industry.
Now a studio shooter, I cut my teeth in photography by curating at an art gallery and working as a published photojournalist. I have worked in fashion [LG Fashion Week, Gotstyle Menswear, Jones New York, Chasse Gardee, Styles Model Management] as well as covering events such as the 2010 Olympic Torch relay, the 2010 CAPP Prorogation Rally, Black History Month, Contact Photography Festival, Luminato, Vanity Fair at the Art Gallery of Ontario and Royal Ontario Museum, Artstars, The 2009 NUJAZZ Festival, Opelia Orchestra In The Park, Subtle Technologies 2009, VOCES 2009, Come Up To My Room/Design Week and The 2009 Dragons Abreast Fashion Show amongst others.
Currently, when I am not busy fiddling with lighting, I volunteer my time with Help-Portrait and my services to select artists and performers on a creative basis.
